In November 2025, foreign investors increased their holdings of Canadian securities by C$16.33 billion, a notable slowdown from the C$46.62 billion increase witnessed in October. This shift was primarily driven by a net rise of C$23.83 billion in debt securities, while equities saw a net reduction of C$7.50 billion. Specifically, non-resident investors purchased C$23.45 billion worth of Canadian bonds. The inflows were mainly attributed to private corporate bonds, which surged by C$13.42 billion, and government bonds, which grew by C$10.03 billion. Conversely, equities experienced a decrease of C$7.50 billion, with significant divestments occurring in the energy and mining sectors, even as there were purchases within the banking sector. On the domestic front, Canadian investors acquired C$16.49 billion in foreign securities, marking a reversal from the C$11.58 billion they divested in October.
