In the United Kingdom, total average weekly earnings, inclusive of bonuses, rose by 4.7% year-on-year, reaching GBP 741 in the three months leading to November 2025. This comes after a slightly revised increase of 4.8% in the preceding quarter but exceeds market predictions of a 4.6% rise. This period represents the most modest earnings growth since the three months ending August 2024. Private sector wage growth slowed to 3.9% from 4.1%, marking the slowest rate since early 2021. Conversely, public sector wage increases climbed to 7.8%, the highest since July–September 2023, up from a 7.7% increase. When adjusted for inflation, total earnings saw a 0.8% growth in the three months to November, maintaining the same pace as the previous period.
