Irish Consumer Mood Highest in 10 Months

Ireland’s Credit Union Consumer Sentiment Index rose to 64.7 in January 2026, up from 61.2 in December, reaching its highest point since March 2025. This marks the third consecutive month of rising consumer confidence. Despite this improvement, confidence levels remain above the two-year low of 58.7 experienced in April, but still fall short of the 74.9 recorded a year ago and are below the long-standing average of 83.5. This subdued sentiment is primarily attributed to increased concerns about US tariffs.
