FX.co ★ Bulgaria Tourist Arrivals Rise 6.6% in December

In December 2025, the number of tourist arrivals in Bulgaria rose by 6.6% compared to the same month the previous year, reaching a total of 888.4 thousand visitors. This increase signifies an acceleration from the 2.9% growth observed in November and is the most significant surge since June 2024. Growth was observed in all categories of travel, with holiday and recreational trips climbing by 33.9%, and professional travel increasing by 14.7%.

Travelers from the European Union made up 56% of the total arrivals. Among these, the majority were from Romania, comprising 34.2%, followed by Greece with 29.1%. Germany, Italy, and Austria accounted for 10.1%, 5.3%, and 3.8% respectively. Additionally, tourists from other parts of Europe constituted 37.4% of the total arrivals, largely driven by visitors from Turkey (52.6%), Serbia (16.6%), Ukraine (13.2%), and North Macedonia (12.1%).
