In the October–December 2025 period, Chile witnessed a decrease in its unemployment rate to 8%, aligning with the level observed in the three-month span ending in January and marking a slight 0.1 percentage point decline compared to the previous year. During this timeframe, the labor force expanded by 1.8%, which was paralleled by a 1.8% rise in employment. Concurrently, the number of unemployed individuals increased by 1.4%. Unemployment reduction was evident across genders, with rates falling to 8.5% for women and 7.7% for men. Participation and employment rates improved to 62.1% and 57.1%, respectively. Notable employment growth was recorded in sectors such as administrative services, accommodation and food services, and the health industry. The number of individuals outside the labor force diminished by 0.5% year-over-year, largely attributed to a 1.2% reduction in the usually inactive population. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the unemployment rate declined to 8.5%.
