In December 2025, manufacturing output in Norway experienced a slight decline of 0.1% month-over-month, marking a shift from the downwardly revised growth of 2% observed in the prior month. The production sectors of food, beverages, and tobacco saw a decrease of 0.7%, compared to an 0.8% increase in November. Similarly, the machinery and equipment sector experienced a drop of 0.8%, down from a 1.1% rise previously. Although the production of refined petroleum, chemical, and pharmaceutical products, as well as ships, boats, and oil platforms, continued to grow, the pace of this growth slowed. Specifically, refined petroleum and related products increased by 1.3%, down from 5.6%, and ships, boats, and oil platforms grew by 2.4%, compared to a previous 4.9% increase. However, on an annual basis, manufacturing output in December still exhibited a growth of 1.2%.
