In December 2025, construction output in the Czech Republic experienced a year-on-year increase of 5.3%, although this marked a deceleration from the revised upward growth of 6.2% observed in November. The expansion in building construction slowed significantly to 2.3% from the previous month's 8.1%. Conversely, civil engineering works showed robust growth, with output rising to 10.9%, up from 3.3% in November. The estimated value of building permits issued saw a substantial year-on-year increase of 54.7%, reaching CZK 36 billion in December. Moreover, the number of dwellings, encompassing both family houses and multi-unit buildings, rose by 11.2% to 2,774. Completed dwellings saw an even more pronounced growth of 56.1%, reaching 2,988 units. On a month-to-month basis, construction activity increased by 1.7%, rebounding from a stagnant performance in the prior period.
