Frankfurt’s DAX 40 hovered just below the flatline around 24,990 on Tuesday, remaining close to its highest level since mid-January. Investor focus stayed on earnings and corporate news ahead of key macroeconomic releases, particularly US labor-market and inflation data.
In equities, Symrise was the standout performer, surging more than 6% after receiving a “buy” recommendation from Goldman Sachs. The chemical group also reported that the US Department of Justice had dropped its antitrust investigation against the company. Sector peers BASF and Brenntag likewise moved higher, gaining 3.6% and 2.3%, respectively.
On the downside, Allianz led decliners with a loss of nearly 2%, followed by Siemens Energy (-1.5%), Infineon Technologies (-1.3%), MTU Aero Engines (-1.2%) and E.ON (-1.1%).
