Construction output in Bulgaria increased by 0.6% year-on-year in December 2025, easing from a downwardly revised 3% rise in November. This was the weakest annual growth since February 2024. The overall slowdown was mainly due to a softer expansion in civil engineering works (3.5% vs 8% in November) and a sharp contraction in specialized construction activities (-3.9% vs -0.4%). In contrast, building construction posted a slightly stronger increase (2.6% vs 2.5%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction output declined by 2.3% in December, reversing a 0.8% gain in November. The drop was driven by lower output in specialized construction activities (-3.9%), civil engineering works (-2.9%), and building construction (-0.4%).
