FX.co ★ Kazakhstan Jobless Rate Remains at 4.6%

In the fourth quarter of 2025, Kazakhstan’s unemployment rate remained at 4.6% for the fifth consecutive quarter. The number of unemployed people decreased by 2.5 thousand year-on-year to 445.7 thousand, while total employment increased by 81.9 thousand to 9.28 million. Within this, the number of hired employees rose by 94.3 thousand, whereas the number of self-employed workers declined by 12.4 thousand. The labor force during the period amounted to 9.72 million. The employment rate reached 64.6% of the population aged 15 and older, corresponding to 95.4% of the labor force. Youth unemployment (ages 15–34) was 3.1%, slightly higher than the 3.0% recorded in the previous quarter. By sector, the largest shares of employment were in trade (17%), education (13.2%), industry (12.5%), and agriculture (10.3%).
