The Central Bank of Botswana kept its benchmark interest rate steady at 3.50% at its February 26, 2026 meeting, maintaining this level for a second consecutive decision. The move is intended to support the domestic economy amid ongoing global uncertainty, while ensuring inflation remains within the bank’s 3%–6% medium-term target range. Annual inflation rose for the second straight month to 4.1% in January 2026, its highest level since June 2023.
