Armenia Inflation Rate Rises to 9-Month High

Armenia’s annual inflation rate increased to 4.3% in February 2026 from 3.8% in January, reaching its highest level since May 2025. Price growth accelerated in several categories, including food and non-alcoholic beverages (6.5% vs 5.9% in January), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (10.3% vs 9.0%), clothing and footwear (0.6% vs 0.3%), health (4.5% vs 3.0%), restaurants and hotels (4.0% vs 3.2%), and miscellaneous goods and services (2.6% vs 2.2%).

Housing and utilities costs returned to growth (0.5% vs -0.1% previously), while education prices were unchanged, maintaining a robust 8.3% annual increase. In contrast, prices fell for furnishings and household equipment (-0.1% vs 0.7%) and for recreation and culture (-0.4% vs 0.2%). Inflation also eased in transport (3.6% vs 4.3%) and communication (0.3% vs 0.6%).

On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.5% in February, a notable slowdown from the 2.0% increase recorded in the previous month.
