Bosnia and Herzegovina Inflation Eases to 9-Month Low

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s annual inflation rate slowed to 3.6% in January 2026 from 4.1% in December, reaching its lowest level since April 2025. Price growth eased in several major categories, including food and non-alcoholic beverages (4.6% vs. 5.3% in December 2025), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (3.6% vs. 4.1%), housing and utilities (7.1% vs. 7.3%), furnishings and household equipment (1.7% vs. 2.4%), and restaurants and hotels (7.2% vs. 7.8%).

At the same time, inflation accelerated in health (6% vs. 4.7%), recreation and culture (5% vs. 4.9%), and education (3.3% vs. 3.1%), while communication prices were unchanged at 1.5%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.9% in January, after a 0.1% increase in the previous month.
