US Futures Slip After Positive Session

US stock futures edged lower on Tuesday, pausing after the prior session’s rebound as traders weighed the latest geopolitical developments. President Donald Trump signaled that the US military operation in Iran could soon wind down, while also outlining measures intended to stabilize oil prices. On Monday, the Dow rose 0.5%, the S&P 500 advanced 0.83%, and the Nasdaq Composite gained 1.38%. Market sentiment on Wall Street improved on expectations of a swift resolution to the conflict in Iran, easing earlier stagflation fears that had driven sharp losses in the major indexes. Oil prices pulled back to about $90 a barrel after briefly spiking to nearly $120 at the start of the week. Looking ahead, investors are focused on Wednesday’s February CPI release and Friday’s PCE price index for January as they seek further insight into the inflation outlook. On the corporate earnings front, Oracle is scheduled to report on Tuesday, followed by Adobe on Thursday.
