Poland Inflation Unchanged at 2.1% in February

Poland’s annual inflation rate stood at 2.1% in February 2026, unchanged from the downwardly revised 2.1% recorded in January. This marked the lowest two-month average since March 2024, largely reflecting the impact of last year’s high base.

Price growth for several categories remained stable: food and non-alcoholic beverages held at 2.4% year-on-year, alcoholic beverages and tobacco at 6.9%, and education at 6.1%. In contrast, inflation accelerated in housing and utilities (4.3% vs 3.8% in January) and in information and communication (4.3% vs 3.7%).

Other categories saw a moderation in price increases. Health costs rose by 4.8%, easing from 5% in January. Inflation also slowed in recreation, sports, and culture (2.4% vs 4.3%), and in restaurants and accommodation services (4.6% vs 5.1%).

Deflation persisted in furnishings, household equipment, and routine maintenance (-1.3%), while price declines deepened in clothing and footwear (-3.4% vs -2.7%). In transport, inflation eased slightly to 5.7% from 5.8%.

On a monthly basis, consumer price growth slowed to 0.3% in February, compared with an upwardly revised 0.7% in January.
