US Futures Rebound

US equity futures climbed sharply on Monday, rebounding from Friday’s near four‑month lows as markets reassessed the likelihood of a sustained energy shock to the global economy. S&P 500 futures rose 0.8%, Nasdaq 100 contracts gained 1%, and Dow Jones Industrial Average futures added 0.6%.

Over the weekend, several liquefied petroleum gas tankers transited the Strait of Hormuz, indicating that Iran is allowing a degree of flexibility in energy exports to allied nations. This development tempered fears of a prolonged supply disruption, even as Iran, Israel, and the United States continued to trade increasingly confrontational rhetoric over their ongoing conflict.

Credit‑sensitive sectors advanced as yields fell across the curve, further supporting the tech-led outperformance. Nvidia traded 1.5% higher in pre‑market activity, while Amazon and Microsoft each gained nearly 1%. Meta rallied almost 3% on reports that it plans to cut about 20% of its workforce, amid claimed efficiency gains linked to the adoption of artificial intelligence.
