Luxembourg Inflation Rate Rises to 3-Month High

Luxembourg’s annual inflation rate accelerated to 2.4% in March 2026, up from 1.3% in February, reaching its highest level since December 2025. Housing and utilities costs rebounded (1.7% vs. -1.2% in February), while price growth quickened in transportation (4.2% vs. 0.2%), recreation, sport and culture (4.7% vs. 3.8%), restaurants and hotels (2.9% vs. 2.5%), and furnishings and household equipment (0.9% vs. 0.7%).

Prices were unchanged for food and non-alcoholic beverages (2.8%) and education (6.2%). In contrast, inflation slowed for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (2.6% vs. 4.2%) and for health (1.8% vs. 2.3%). Clothing and footwear prices were flat after a 0.1% decline in February, while prices in information and communication fell (-1% vs. 0.7%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.9% in March, easing from a 1.2% increase in the previous month.
