FX.co ★ Bulgaria Current Account Deficit Widens in February

Bulgaria’s current account deficit widened sharply to EUR 170.1 million in February 2026, up from EUR 77.4 million in the same month a year earlier. The goods trade deficit expanded significantly, reaching EUR 657.5 million compared with EUR 371.7 million in February 2025. By contrast, the services surplus increased to EUR 609.7 million, from EUR 560.5 million a year before. On the income side, the primary income deficit narrowed substantially to EUR 177.4 million from EUR 306.3 million, while the secondary income surplus rose to EUR 70.5 million from EUR 14.9 million.
