India’s BSE Sensex fell about 1% to close at 78,516.5 on Wednesday, snapping a three-session winning streak as investors weighed corporate earnings and developments in the Middle East conflict. Ongoing uncertainty around US-Iran talks and persistent shipping disruptions kept risk appetite in check, even after the ceasefire was extended. The IT sector was the main drag on the index, led by a 10.9% slump in HCLTech after the company reported muted results and issued soft guidance for the next fiscal year. Other major IT names also retreated, with Infosys down 3.4% and Tata Consultancy Services off 2.8%.
