European equities fell on Friday, with the STOXX 50 down 0.6% and the STOXX 600 retreating 0.3%, as caution over Broadcom’s outlook continued to pressure semiconductor shares and broader risk sentiment. Among the notable laggards were Infineon Technologies (-4.9%), ASML Holding (-3.2%), STMicroelectronics (-3.2%) and Schneider Electric (-1.9%). Industrial and banking stocks also came under selling pressure. At the same time, investors kept a close eye on developments in the Middle East, where uncertainty over a lasting resolution to the conflict persists amid a fragile ceasefire and repeated setbacks in negotiations. For the week to date, the STOXX 600 is down 0.2%, while the STOXX 50 is up 0.8%.
