FX.co ★ Mexico Auto Exports Rise 1.7% YoY

Mexico’s automobile exports rose 1.7% year-on-year in May 2026, reaching 306,288 units, after posting an 11.42% jump in April. Shipments increased for Stellantis (63.6%), Volkswagen (52.5%), Mercedes-Benz (5.4%) and Mazda (72.5%). By contrast, exports declined for General Motors (-0.9%), Ford (-18.3%), Nissan (-19.6%), Toyota (-1%) and Audi (-23.8%).

Over the first five months of the year, Mexico exported a total of 1,388,236 vehicles, up 4% compared with the same period in 2025. The United States remained the main destination, absorbing 75.4% of total exports, followed by Canada with 12.5% and Germany with 3%.
