FX.co ★ Colombia Retail Sales Growth Accelerates in April

Retail sales in Colombia rose 14.9% year-on-year in April 2026, exceeding market expectations of an 11.4% increase and quickening from the 13.4% gain recorded in March. Retail activity was broadly robust, with real sales expanding in 18 merchandise categories and declining in only one.

The largest positive contributions came from motor vehicles and motorcycles primarily for household use (up 49.8%), other motor vehicles and motorcycles (up 43.8%), and information technology and telecommunications equipment for personal or household use (up 20.9%). By contrast, sales of motor vehicle fuels edged down 0.3%. Excluding fuel sales, real retail sales advanced 18.5%.
