Sweden Business Confidence Holds Firm in June

Sweden’s business confidence indicator held steady at 103.6 in June 2026, remaining above its long-term average of 100 and continuing to point to stronger-than-normal business sentiment. Demand conditions improved slightly (-20 versus -23 in May), but stayed below normal, indicating weaker-than-usual demand overall. Labor market conditions softened, with firms reporting a larger decline in employment over the past three months (-5 versus -2). Over the next three months, companies expect staffing levels to be broadly unchanged (0 versus 1). At the same time, businesses still anticipate higher sales prices in the coming three months, though price expectations eased somewhat (20 versus 24). Survey results also show that firms remain more dissatisfied than usual with demand conditions, while demand sentiment in the manufacturing and trade sectors was broadly in line with normal levels.
