Portugal's consumer confidence index rose to -25.9 in June 2026 from -27.1 in May, marking the first improvement in sentiment since December 2025. Over the past year, however, overall consumer sentiment weakened: households’ financial outlook slipped to -16.2 from -15.5, while perceptions of the country’s economic situation fell more sharply, to -55.1 from -50.7. Concerns about current prices intensified, with that gauge climbing to 67.0 from 63.2, and assessments of households’ current financial situation eased slightly, to 15 from 16. Looking ahead, expectations improved: views on the country’s economic outlook rose to -45.6 from -48.5, households’ financial expectations strengthened to -13.0 from -14.0, and forward-looking price concerns declined to 59.1 from 66.4.
