The Dallas Fed’s general business activity index for Texas manufacturing was essentially flat in June 2026, following a 0.4-point increase in May. Firms reported a modest improvement in sentiment: the company outlook index rose to 2.3 from 0.3, and uncertainty declined, with the outlook uncertainty index dropping eight points to 10.9. Labor market conditions strengthened, as the employment index jumped to 13.9 from 0.2 and average work hours also increased. Price dynamics were mixed: selling prices and wages accelerated, while input cost pressures were largely unchanged. Looking ahead, manufacturers remained optimistic. The future general business activity index climbed 12 points to 25.9, even as the future production index edged down slightly to 34.8.
