Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia Inflation Slide Deepens in June, MoM CPI at -0.4%

Consumer prices in Germany’s largest state, North Rhine-Westphalia, fell further in June 2026, underscoring persistent disinflationary pressure in the region. The state’s consumer price index (CPI) decreased by 0.4% month-over-month, compared with a 0.2% decline in May 2026.

The June reading, released on 30 June 2026, shows an acceleration in the pace of price declines on a month-over-month basis. Under the comparison framework used, the current figure measures the change in prices in June relative to May, while the previous indicator captured the change in May relative to April. The back-to-back negative readings highlight a softening price environment in North Rhine-Westphalia midway through 2026.
