Irish Services Growth Hits 5-Month High

The AIB Ireland Services PMI rose to 54.2 in June 2026 from 50.8 in May, reaching its highest level since January. The pick-up in services activity was underpinned by the strongest rise in new business in seven months, reflecting a recovery in demand. Technology, media & telecoms remained the best-performing sector, posting its fastest expansion since last November. Overseas demand also strengthened, increasing at the quickest pace in seven months.

Higher levels of outstanding work partly stemmed from only a modest increase in employment, with job growth slowing to a three-month low. On the cost side, firms faced higher input prices, linked to increased fuel, salary, freight, and supplier costs. Even so, overall input cost inflation eased to a four-month low.

Looking ahead, business confidence improved to a four-month high, supported by expectations of further demand recovery, new business opportunities, marketing initiatives, and an expanding range of products and services.
