FX.co ★ Swedish Economic Growth Continued in May

The Swedish economy expanded by 0.9% month-on-month in May 2026, following an upwardly revised 0.6% increase in April and marking a third consecutive month of GDP growth. “With positive figures for May, we have now seen three months of continuous growth in the Swedish economy. The main explanation for the uptick this month is higher output in service-producing industries, with information and communication showing particularly strong growth. Stronger net exports of goods, largely due to a decline in goods imports, also contributed to overall GDP growth,” said Mattias Kain Wyatt, economist at Statistics Sweden. On an annual basis, the economy grew by 3.9% in May, accelerating from an upwardly revised 2.6% increase in April.
