Luxembourg Inflation at 4-Month Low

Luxembourg’s annual inflation rate eased to 2.2% in June 2026, down from 2.3% in May, reaching its lowest level since February. Price growth slowed across several key categories, including housing and utilities (2.6% vs. 3.3% in May), transport (4.3% vs. 5.9%), food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.3% vs. 2.0%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (1.5% vs. 2.5%), and information and communication (0.7% vs. 1.6%).

By contrast, inflation picked up for clothing and footwear, rising to 0.3% after being flat in May, accelerated notably for health (2.1% vs. 0.7%), and turned positive again for furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (0.4% vs. -0.4%). Inflation remained unchanged for recreation, sports and culture at 3.1%, and for education at 6.2%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices inched up 0.1%, partially reversing the 0.2% decline recorded in the previous month.
