Greek Inflation Eases to 4.4% in June, Extending Slowdown Trend

Greece’s consumer price inflation continued to cool in June 2026, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising 4.4% year-over-year, down from 5.2% in May 2026. The latest data, updated on 9 July 2026, point to a further easing of price pressures in the Greek economy.

Both the current and previous readings are measured against the same month a year earlier, highlighting a gradual slowdown in annual inflation. In May, prices were 5.2% higher than in May a year before, while June’s 4.4% figure shows that the pace of price increases has moderated compared with June of the prior year.

The June data reinforce a trend of disinflation, suggesting that although consumer prices are still rising on an annual basis, they are doing so at a slower rate than earlier in 2026.
