Czech Republic Inflation Confirmed at 4-Month Low

The annual inflation rate in the Czech Republic eased to 1.5% in June 2026, in line with preliminary estimates and down from 2.1% in May. This was the lowest rate since February, largely reflecting deeper price declines for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-3.4% vs. -1.9% in May) and for clothing and footwear (-2.7% vs. -2.5%). Inflation also moderated in transport (5.7% vs. 9.4%), information and communication (1.9% vs. 2.5%), and recreation, sport, and culture (2.7% vs. 3.0%).

By contrast, prices rose more rapidly for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (4.3% vs. 3.7%), furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance (1.3% vs. 1.1%), and health (3.4% vs. 2.8%), while inflation for housing and utilities was unchanged at 1.3%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.3% in June, the first decline in four months, following a 0.1% increase in the previous period.
