FX.co ★ Moldova Inflation Rate Eases in June

Moldova’s annual inflation rate eased to 6.5% in June 2026, down from 6.8% recorded in each of the previous two months. Price growth slowed for non-food goods (6.5% vs. 7.2% in May), as inflation for fuel and motor fuels moderated, though prices in this category continued to rise at a solid pace. Service-sector inflation also edged lower (7.4% vs. 7.5%), driven by more gradual increases in passenger transport fares, regulated electricity tariffs, rents, education costs, and public catering services.

By contrast, inflation for food products held steady at 5.7%. Falling sugar prices helped to offset ongoing price increases for eggs, vegetables, bread, dairy products, fruit, meat products, and vegetable oil. On a monthly basis, consumer prices declined by 0.1% in June, after rising by 0.4% in May.
