Kazakhstan Producer Inflation Rises Again

Producer prices in Kazakhstan rose 17.2% year-on-year in June 2026, up from 16% in May and reaching their highest level since October 2022. This was the sixth consecutive month of accelerating price growth. Prices in mining and quarrying jumped 25.9%, compared with 22.7% in the previous month, driven by sharp increases in the extraction of crude oil and natural gas (34.5%) and in metal ore mining (12%). Price growth also picked up in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water, and air conditioning, which rose 12% after an 11.4% increase in May. By contrast, inflation in manufacturing eased slightly to 11.8% from 12%. Price growth in water supply, sewerage, waste collection, treatment and disposal, and remediation activities also moderated, rising 7.5% after 7.6% previously. On a monthly basis, producer prices increased 0.5% in June, a sharp slowdown from the 3.2% rise recorded in May.
