Swiss Producer Prices Ease Decline in June, Hinting at Stabilising Cost Pressures

Switzerland’s producer price index (PPI) showed a slight easing in deflationary pressure in June 2026, suggesting that upstream costs may be stabilising after a deeper decline in the previous month. On a month-over-month basis, PPI registered a -0.3% change in June, compared with a -0.4% drop in May 2026, according to data updated on 14 July 2026.

The figures indicate that while producer prices are still falling, the pace of decline has moderated. In May, prices had decreased by 0.4% versus April, whereas June’s 0.3% month-on-month fall points to a marginal improvement in cost dynamics for Swiss producers. Market participants will now be watching upcoming data closely to see whether this trend continues, potentially reducing deflationary risks in the production sector and influencing expectations for inflation and monetary policy in the months ahead.
