Poland’s annual inflation rate eased to 2.5% in June 2026 from 3.1% in May, in line with preliminary estimates and marking the lowest level since February. The slowdown was driven primarily by a decline in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.2% vs. +0.5% in May). Deflation also deepened in the category of furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-1.1% vs. -0.9%), while the drop in prices for clothing and footwear became slightly less pronounced (-3.1% vs. -3.4%).
Price growth moderated across several major categories, including housing and utilities (4.9% vs. 5.0%), transport (1.3% vs. 5.6%), recreation, sport and culture (5.2% vs. 5.6%), health (5.0% vs. 5.1%), and information and communication (4.0% vs. 4.5%). By contrast, inflation picked up for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (6.5% vs. 6.4%), as well as for personal care, social protection, and miscellaneous goods and services (2.2% vs. 1.7%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.5% in June, following a 0.3% decline in May.
