Azerbaijan Monthly Inflation Declines

Azerbaijan’s consumer prices fell by 0.3% month-on-month in June 2026, reversing a 0.1% increase recorded in May. The decline was mainly driven by a 0.7% drop in prices for food, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco, following a 0.1% decrease in this category in the previous month. Within this group, food prices alone fell by 0.8%, largely due to lower prices for fresh fish, eggs, and fruit.

In contrast, non-food prices rose by 0.1% for the second consecutive month, supported by higher prices for furniture, motor oil, passenger cars, and mobile phones, though cheaper household appliances partially offset these gains. Service prices also inched up 0.1%, reflecting higher costs for international air transport and domestic tour packages.

On an annual basis, inflation quickened to 5.8% in June from 5.6% in May, marking its highest level in eight months.
