Czechia Producer Prices Rise Less Than Expected

Producer prices in the Czech Republic increased by 1.3% year-on-year in June 2026, coming in below market expectations of 1.5% and easing from 1.5% in May. This was the third consecutive month of annual growth following fourteen months of contraction.

The overall slowdown was driven mainly by manufactured products, where price growth eased to 2.8% from 3.6% in May. Within this category, declines in food product prices deepened (-5.0% vs. -4.0%), price decreases in motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers became slightly less pronounced (-1.4% vs. -1.5%), and price growth in machinery and equipment moderated (0.7% vs. 0.9%). Cost increases also slowed in mining and quarrying (2.1% vs. 2.3%).

At the same time, deflation in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning prices eased (-4.4% vs. -6.0%), while inflation in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities remained steady at 3.9%.

On a month-on-month basis, producer prices fell by 0.4% in June, following a 0.1% decline in May. This marked the second consecutive monthly decrease after three months of rising prices.
