Sweden’s Producer Price Momentum Almost Stalls in June, Slowing Sharply to 0.1% MoM

Swedish producer price inflation slowed markedly in June 2026, with the Producer Price Index (PPI) rising just 0.1% month-over-month, down from a 1.3% increase in May 2026. The latest data, updated on 24 July 2026, point to a significant loss of momentum in upstream price pressures across the economy.

On a month-over-month basis, the “actual” June reading compares the change from May to June, while the “previous” figure for May reflects the change from April to May. The sharp deceleration suggests that cost pressures at the producer level have eased considerably within the span of a month, potentially signaling a stabilizing environment for input prices going into the second half of 2026.

For financial markets and policymakers, the near-flat June PPI reading may be interpreted as a sign that inflationary forces in Sweden’s production sector are cooling, after a much stronger rise in May. Investors will be watching subsequent releases to see whether June marks a temporary pause or the beginning of a more sustained moderation in producer price growth.
