Sweden Producer Inflation Hits Over 3-Year High

Producer prices in Sweden rose 7.4% year-on-year in June 2026, up from 6.6% in May, marking the fourth consecutive monthly increase and the fastest annual pace since February 2023. The acceleration was driven mainly by persistently higher energy prices (37.7% vs. 32.7% in May). Prices for capital goods also increased slightly faster (1.5% vs. 1.4%), while the decline in consumer goods prices moderated (-1.8% vs. -2.7%).

Excluding energy-related products, producer prices climbed 3.3% year-on-year, compared with a 2.7% rise in the previous month. Domestic prices increased by 7.9%, and import prices advanced 7.0%.

On a monthly basis, producer prices edged up 0.1% in June, following a 1.3% increase in May. “Although the monthly rate of PPI in June does not show any larger change, the yearly rate of 7.4 percent indicates an upward trend,” said Carl Mårtensson, statistician at Statistics Sweden.
