US Futures Extend Mixed Momentum

US equity futures were mixed on Tuesday as chipmakers extended their selloff, in contrast to gains in other sectors supported by lower Treasury yields. S&P 500 futures were little changed, Nasdaq 100 contracts fell 1%, and Dow Jones Industrial Average futures rose about 350 points.

Semiconductor and memory producers came under pressure on worries that hyperscalers’ spending on AI infrastructure is set to slow, weighing on compute and memory names. Micron and SanDisk each dropped more than 7%. The sector was further hurt by growing optimism around Chinese rivals following the strong Shanghai IPO of CXMT. Nvidia declined about 1.5%, while AMD lost roughly 5%.

By contrast, software-oriented and non-technology stocks were mostly higher. Credit costs continued to retreat, mirroring lower energy prices after US officials signaled a willingness to pursue diplomatic avenues with Iran. JPMorgan rose, leading gains in the banking sector, and Visa advanced about 1% ahead of its earnings release after the close. Coca-Cola added roughly 3% in premarket trading after raising its guidance.
