FX.co ★ Swedish Economic Activity Shrinks 0.2% in June

The Swedish economy contracted by 0.2% month-on-month in June 2026, reversing May’s 0.9% growth and marking the first decline in four months. “The Swedish economy weakened somewhat in June after three consecutive months of growth. However, the strong performance in the preceding months meant that overall economic activity in June, as well as in the second quarter as a whole, was clearly higher than in the same periods a year earlier,” said Mattias Kain Wyatt, economist at Statistics Sweden. On an annual basis, GDP rose 2.4% in June, slowing from a downwardly revised 3.8% increase in May.
