DAX Hits Three-Week High on Strong Earnings

Frankfurt’s DAX 40 climbed back above the 25,500 mark on Wednesday, rebounding from early volatility to notch its highest level since July 6, as a solid round of corporate earnings helped counter renewed geopolitical tensions. Sentiment stayed cautious, however, after fresh Iranian attacks pushed oil and gas prices higher, while investors awaited the Federal Reserve’s policy decision and results from major US technology firms.

Among individual movers, Rheinmetall jumped nearly 7% after reporting sharp increases in revenue and operating profit on the back of robust defense demand. BASF advanced 3.8% following the announcement of a new share buyback program, while Siemens Healthineers rose 3.5%, supported by upbeat results from its US peer GE Healthcare, which lifted the broader healthcare sector. Deutsche Bank gained 3% after delivering record second-quarter profits, and RWE added more than 2% after raising its outlook for 2026 and 2027, citing a stronger-than-expected first half of the year.
