FX.co ★ FDI Into Vietnam Grows 11.8% YoY in Jan-July

Foreign direct investment (FDI) disbursed in Vietnam reached USD 15.20 billion in the first seven months of 2026, up 11.8% year-on-year, highlighting the continued strength of capital inflows into the economy.

Over the same period, Vietnam approved 106 new outbound investment projects with a total value of USD 1.17 billion, 2.9 times higher than a year earlier. In addition, 23 existing overseas projects received capital increases amounting to USD 1.19 billion, 9.2 times higher year-on-year.

As a result, Vietnam’s total overseas investment — combining newly registered and additional capital — climbed to USD 2.36 billion, 4.5 times the level recorded in the same period last year.

Consequently, total registered foreign investment in Vietnam, including newly registered capital, adjusted registered capital, and capital contributions and share purchases by foreign investors, also rose 4.5 times year-on-year to USD 2.36 billion.
