Colombia Factory Growth Moderates in July

Colombia’s Davivienda Manufacturing PMI slipped to 52.7 in July 2026 from 53.7 in June, still indicating a solid expansion in factory activity. New orders recorded robust growth, but output rose only marginally, and inventories of finished goods fell for the fifth consecutive month. To rebuild stocks, manufacturers increased their purchases of inputs despite ongoing supply delays linked to port disruptions, supplier shortages, and traffic congestion. Vendor delivery times continued to lengthen, though at the slowest rate since February.

Pre‑production inventories rose for the second month in a row as previously ordered materials finally arrived. Employment increased as firms sought to work through backlogs and satisfy demand, contributing to a sixth consecutive monthly decline in outstanding business. Although cost pressures remained elevated, they eased to their lowest level in six months, and output price inflation slowed to its weakest pace so far this year. Business sentiment remained positive.
