Ukraine’s Q4 GDP Growth Cools to 0.6% Year-on-Year, Down from 2.1%

Ukraine’s economic momentum weakened in the fourth quarter, with GDP growth easing to 0.6% year-on-year, down from a previously recorded 2.1% in the same quarter. The updated figures, released on 4 August 2026, show a marked moderation in the pace of expansion compared with the prior year’s performance.

Both the current and previous readings relate to the fourth quarter of 2025, but differ in strength: the earlier estimate stood at 2.1% year-on-year, while the latest data confirm that real growth slowed to 0.6% when compared with the fourth quarter a year earlier. The data follow a year-over-year comparison methodology, measuring each period against the corresponding quarter of the prior year.

The downward revision in fourth-quarter GDP highlights a softer-than-expected close to the year for Ukraine’s economy, underlining growing headwinds as the expansion lost pace compared with the more robust conditions seen a year earlier.
