Hungary’s industrial sector posted a sharp rebound in June 2026, with output rising 10.1% year-over-year, according to data updated on 6 August 2026. The surge marks a strong turnaround from May 2026, when industrial production had fallen 0.4% compared with the same month a year earlier.
The data, measured on a year-over-year basis, show that Hungarian industry moved from mild contraction into solid double-digit growth within the span of a month. While the May reading reflected a negative comparison against May 2025, June’s figure indicates that output in June 2026 was significantly higher than in June 2025.
The sharp improvement in June suggests a marked strengthening in industrial activity, which will be closely watched by markets and policymakers for signs of whether this momentum can be sustained in the second half of the year.
