DAX Hovers Near Record Highs

The DAX 40 hovered around the flatline near 26,150 on Thursday, staying close to its recent record highs. Investors weighed a new batch of corporate earnings while tracking developments in the Middle East, amid hopes that a US-Iran agreement may be approaching. At the same time, technology and AI-related shares came under renewed pressure.

Among notable movers, Deutsche Telekom advanced more than 5% after reporting upbeat results and announcing it had increased its 2026 share buyback program by €3 billion, bringing the total to up to €5 billion. Henkel climbed 2.7% after raising its full-year organic sales growth guidance, supported by stronger-than-expected first-half revenue.

On the downside, Siemens lost more than 5% as its quarterly report underwhelmed investors, even though the company posted record industrial profit and a record level of new orders. Rheinmetall slipped nearly 1% after cutting its 2026 sales outlook following the cancellation of a German frigate program, despite recording an almost 70% surge in second-quarter sales.
