Greek Inflation Cools to 3.4% in July, Easing from 4.4% in June

Greece’s annual inflation rate, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), slowed to 3.4% in July 2026 on a year-over-year basis, down from 4.4% in June 2026. The latest data, updated on 7 August 2026, indicate a moderation in price pressures compared with earlier in the summer.

Both the current and previous readings are based on year-over-year comparisons, with July’s figure reflecting the change in prices versus July a year earlier and June’s figure reflecting the change versus the same month of the prior year. The deceleration from June to July suggests some easing in consumer price growth, a development closely watched by policymakers, businesses and investors assessing the trajectory of inflation in Greece.
