Mexico’s CPI Edges Back Into Positive Territory in July After June Deflation

Mexico’s consumer price index (CPI) inched up in July 2026, marking a return to positive territory after a brief bout of deflation in the previous month. Month-over-month, CPI rose by 0.03% in July, compared with a 0.27% decline recorded in June 2026.

The data, updated on 7 August 2026, show a modest stabilization in prices following June’s negative reading. On a month-over-month basis, the “actual” figure for July reflects how prices changed versus June, while the “previous” figure measures June’s movement compared with May. The shift from -0.27% to 0.03% suggests that downward pressure on prices has eased, with inflation effectively flat but no longer in decline.
