Denmark Inflation Eases to 1.7% in July

Denmark’s annual inflation rate slowed to 1.7% in July 2026, down from 1.9% in each of the previous two months. The moderation was driven primarily by housing and utilities, where prices were flat (0.0% vs 0.5% in June), and by a deeper decline in food prices (-1.6% vs -0.9%).

Price growth also weakened in several categories: leisure, sports and culture (0.8% vs 2.8%), personal care and other miscellaneous goods and services (1.5% vs 1.8%), and clothing and footwear (0.9% vs 2.3%).

In contrast, transport costs rose at a faster pace (5.5% vs 4.5%), largely reflecting a sharper increase in petrol prices (20.1% vs 15.3%). Prices for restaurants and hotels also accelerated (8.1% vs 5.7%), mainly due to higher holiday home rental costs. Inflation in information and communication held steady at 4.6%.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices climbed 1.3% in July, following a 0.2% increase in June. Core inflation, which excludes energy and unprocessed food, remained unchanged at 2.3%.
